The penthouse collection offering the height of luxury in North Sydney

Living life at the top may be just a figure of speech for those leading successful lives, but it will quite literally apply to the affluent home-buyers hitting the property market in the wake of pandemic restrictions.

COVID-19 was a double-edged sword for Australians. For some, the restrictions forced them to scrimp and save during a time when unemployment soared to 7.5 per cent.

But for others – namely Baby Boomers – it had a much more fortunate impact. The value of their investments, including home values and superannuation, rose following the lifting of restrictions.

It effectively lined their pockets and opened a new door to Sydney’s finest real estate, including a suite of uber-luxury abodes that will soon sit prettily atop Aura by Aqualand, a high-rise complex taking shape on Walker Street in North Sydney. Seven sub-penthouses have already sold, leaving five more on the market, plus two premium penthouses on level 28.

The views from these prestige addresses are impressive, to say the least, with Sydney Harbour and the CBD to the east, south and west, and North Sydney Oval to the north.

Elevating these views and the architecture by Woods Bagot is the high-end interior design by Kirsten Stanisich, director at Richards Stanisich.

“The building architects considered the themes of the Sydney coastline in the forms and design of the building, and we want to continue to explore this in the design of the penthouses,” she says.

“We’ve introduced an element of sculptural form in the details, such as the rolled edges to joinery pulls, kitchen island support, and the fireplace surrounds.”
