Residents of these luxury apartments will score a $20 life-changing bonus

A plush extra is on offer to buyers of swanky new Sydney apartments.

Agents will be having their own Oprah moment – “You get a car! You get a car” – at Aura in North Sydney.

Residents can book one of three Teslas, per hour or for the day, which will be kept at the 28-level tower.

At a cost of $20 per hour or $120 per day, buyers of the apartments, overlooking the North Sydney Oval, won’t need to consider their wheels when they move in.

Developer Aqualand has engaged shared EV provider Outbound and SUPA, a infrastructure services company, to handle the Tesla Model 3s.

Three vehicles will be available to residents to start with, but the fleet could grow, Outbound CEO Luke Rust says in a statement.

At a cost of about $25,000 to own the average car, the car-share  system delivers a cheaper alternative, he said.

“Imagine that, watching a game of cricket or rugby being played on North Sydney Oval from your apartment, and then jumping in an ‘on demand’ Tesla to head over the bridge for dinner,” Rust said.

“North Sydney is very much steeped in history, so it’s a real coming together of the old and new worlds with this futuristic service.

“It’d be great for the concept to catch on at other properties in the area – ultimately, it’s the residents who win.”

Residents will book the cars through the Outbound app.

The tower is at the heart of rejuvenation of North Sydney, which creates an extension of the CBD. During the campaign, apartments were marketed on Domain with a starting sum of $1.14 million.

Aura is completed and gleaming, thanks to a trio of industry stars – architects from Woods Bagot, interiors and penthouse architecture by Richards Stanisich and landscaping by Turf Design.

Downstairs restaurants – a bistro, providore and Japanese eatery – and a bakery and wine bar create a vibrant street level.

Attributes inside the glimmering tower include a gym, sky-view rooftop and theatre.
